CUCKOO is a warped love story of madness, magic and obsession. A grieving man seeks to reconnect with his dead wife and daughter through whatever means necessary.

Paul Wright is a critically acclaimed Scottish filmmaker whose work has played internationally at festivals such as Cannes and Locarno.

An NFTS graduate, his short films have received international acclaim and awards, including winning Best Short Film at the BAFTAs, The Leopard Of Tomorrow Award at Locarno and screened at numerous film festivals worldwide.

His feature debut FOR THOSE IN PERIL premiered at Cannes Critics Week in 2013, as well as winning Best Film at the BAFTA Scotland Awards and Best New Work at the BIFA’s. Paul was also nominated for the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer/Director.

In 2016 Paul directed an episode of TV Mini-Series MURDER for BBC Two, and has most recently completed his second feature ARCADIA, a provocative and poetic documentary about our contradictory relationship with the land, crafted from archive footage. The film premiered at BFI London Film Festival 2017 and was released theatrically in 2018.
