Head of Development

Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 pro rata per annum dependent on experience

Location: Glasgow based company / remote & flexible working options available

Hours: 4 days (28 hours) per week – we are open to when these will be worked

Contract type: Fixed term until Dec 2024 (18 months) with view to renew until July 2026 (further 18 months) and potentially beyond.

barry crerar, a film production company run by producing duo Ciara Barry and Rosie Crerar, is seeking a creative, driven Head of Development. Working primarily in Film, barry crerar is also now expanding into TV. The Head of Development will work on the existing slate, and will be tasked to build a slate of new international projects and IP.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with substantial previous experience of the UK Film industry to steer the development slate of an exciting and inclusive Scottish company. They will be responsible for barry crerar’s slate and will be required to work with significant autonomy reporting to the Directors. They must therefore have experience with funders and broadcasters, excellent editorial judgement, and confidence in running a development slate in a fast paced Film/ TV production company.

The Head of Development is not required to be based in Scotland although they should have a good understanding of the distinct cultural context that barry crerar contributes to within Scotland, alongside strong contacts in the UK and internationally, and sound knowledge of the international marketplace.
