From the vantage point of 2020 UK, on the cusp of Brexit and amidst the Coronavirus pandemic – the most seismic cultural and social shifts of our time – THE GOD SPOT is an archival, sensory exploration of the search for meaning in post-war British life. Charting the life journey from birth to death, using archive footage and found audio spanning 70 years, the film looks at how we transcend the everyday in our quest for meaning, belonging and happiness. From childhood naivety and playfulness, to knowledge and it’s flip side – disillusionment and escapism, the film proposes that there is hope to be found in rebirth and new beginnings.

The God Spot is in funded development with Screen Scotland.
